(A special Night school for disadvantaged village children)

The Marayatha makkal Kalaingar SURESH DHARMA CHILDREN ACTIVITY CENTRE was established in the year 2005, Its an initiative of college students from native village This night school were mainly started to help slow learners in disadvantaged village children who did not get any opportunity to attend special class in the evening time and also for the drop-outs but there was also a great need to give tutorial guidance for school-going children who hailed from multi-purpose educational centre, in response to local needs and requests from parents. The teachers at the school are volunteers from native village collage students and self help group animators. They take care of the children in the evenings. Between 5.00 and 8.30 p.m. every day, they conduct special classes during examinations, and Basic Computer training, Life skill Education, child / human Rights education , Environmental education and organize cultural programmes, study tours and visits, work camps and other such co-curricular activities. Artistic talent (in music, dance, painting, theatre, writing, drawing and hobbies) is encouraged, and sports activities are also conducted. Special get-togethers in festival times, work camps, summer camps and student exchange programmes are arranged wherever possible, to bring unity and understanding and to enhance appreciation among the rural children. Teachers of Marayatha makkal Kalaingar SURESH DHARMA CHILDREN ACTIVITY CENTRE (Night School) are long time associates of Centre for Child Rights and Development (CCRD), they are not teachers by profession, but get regular training to impart knowledge to their wards.
At present we have 48 children in class 1st to 10th among them 21 are girl students, all are came from very poor family background, we don’t have separate building for our school, currently using village temple place and one community hall, We need volunteers for teach English and other languages, subjects, artistic talent activities to our children and financial or material aid for learning and sports materials to our children.
